Alliant Technologies Announces Joint Venture with CayComm Media Holdings
Morristown, NJ – May 7, 2009 – Alliant Technologies, LLC and CayComm Media Holdings, Inc. are proud to announce a new joint venture, Alliant Managed Services (“AMS”). Under the joint venture, Alliant and CayComm will contribute assets and capital to AMS, which delivers world-class managed IT services to middle-market and enterprise clients including 24/7 remote monitoring and response, management, and administration of critical IT infrastructure. AMS will be wholly owned by Alliant and CayComm, and the new Alliant subsidiary will be headquartered in Morristown, NJ.
Alliant Managed Services was formed to expand Alliant’s current Aware service offering in order to support ‘next generation’ Data Centers. Alliant has been actively migrating its customers to data centers with virtualized servers and consolidated storage, and with the combined resources from Alliant and CayComm, AMS is well positioned to continue to service and enhance these solutions over the long term.
Alliant Managed Services features a Network Operations Center (NOC) staffed by certified engineers available around the clock to monitor customer environments and respond to incidents immediately. The AMS team excels at supporting technologies from Cisco, VMware, NetApp, RSA, and Microsoft, and provides third-party dispatch support on many other devices and networks. AMS has a flexible service mix; customers may contract for simple monitoring, device repair, and hands-on administration of solutions such as Cisco Unified Communications, Microsoft Exchange, RSA SecurID®, NetApp SANs, or VMware’s vCenter. With AMS, companies no longer have to staff engineers 24/7 to maintain high availability service levels – AMS can do it for them at a fraction of the cost.
Michael Pastor, Founder of CayComm and the newly appointed President of AMS, explained, “We are witnessing a surging trend among businesses to out-task more data center operation functions, and we have strategically joined forces with Alliant to deliver a comprehensive suite of integrated IT services to meet that growing demand.” Bruce Flitcroft, CEO of Alliant Technologies, added, “As we deploy solutions for clients, we are significantly reducing their on-going management costs by leveraging our AMS team and infrastructure. Our plans are to expand the AMS portfolio to include services such as security event correlation, data back-up and restore, and mobile device management.” AMS is currently monitoring thousands of customer devices worldwide and expects to accelerate its businesses growth with the addition of the CayComm team and resources.
Previously, Michael Pastor served as a Corporate Officer and President of Net2Phone Cable Telephony, LLC (formerly NASDAQ: NTOP) where he managed engineering, operations and service delivery and led a sales and marketing team securing $170 million in contract based revenues with over 100,000 devices under management. Prior to Net2Phone, Mr. Pastor has held a variety of sales, management and business development positions at Automatic Data Processing, Bloomberg L.P., and Ziff Davis’ NetBuyer.com.
