Vulnerability Assessments
How safe are your company's information assets?
With Fortress ScanT Vulnerability Assessment
service, Alliant reviews your network perimeter, identifying
weaknesses, and allowing you to protect your infrastructure from
potential external threats.
Alliant takes a four-step vulnerability assessment process that
includes: Target Footprinting, Surface Scanning, Vulnerability
Identification and Reporting. During the scan, Alliant will review
client security from the perspective of an external, unauthorized
entity or "hacker".
The scans involve observations, information gathering, cursory
examinations and focused testing and probing. Alliant utilizes the
technical security experience of its engineers, custom scripts and
programs, freely available testing utilities and commercial scanning
software to generate a broad picture of the vulnerabilities discovered
across the enterprise.
Alliant uses a range of tools and utilities as part of its
vulnerability scanning. Publicly available sources of information such
as web sites, newsgroup postings, ARIN, and DNS entries are used to
research the target. This is supplemented by port scanners, OS
identification programs, ping sweep utilities, traceroute and similar
tools. The actual vulnerability scanning is performed using the NessusT
Vulnerability Scanner.
In its vulnerability assessment report, Alliant delivers a list of
potential vulnerabilities, prioritized by severity and importance,
with recommended remediation techniques to strengthen your security
posture.
