Alliant Technologies Announces Smooth IPT Telephony Solutions Suite

MORRISTOWN, New Jersey, June 16, 2005 - Alliant Technologies announces the availability of its Smooth IPT Telephony Solutions Suite, based on the industry-leading Cisco Systems' CallManager® platform, for enterprises considering IP-based communications systems.

Alliant's Smooth IPT portfolio of IP telephony (IPT) solutions provides discrete services for companies at various stages of IPT adoption, and includes a unique, fully-managed IPT offer in the enterprise space - Enterprise Managed IPT Service. This subscription-based service provides clustered CallManager and Unity voice mail servers, hosted at Alliant's IPT Data Center, in a dedicated configuration for each client; customer sites are outfitted with Cisco voice gateway routers and IP handsets by Alliant's engineering team. Intra-company voice calls are routed over the customer's private IP Wide Area Network (WAN), which connects the core call processing equipment with each location. Alliant technicians monitor and maintain the IPT equipment 24/7, while Alliant's administration staff supports end user requests with a business-day HelpDesk.

The Enterprise Managed IPT Service provides the operational simplicity, and pay-as-you grow financial model, of IP Centrex-style service, while meeting enterprise client requirements for customized features and a secured infrastructure.

Other IPT services announced by Alliant include Analysis & Design, Procure & Deploy, Hosting & DR, Maintenance, and Administration & HelpDesk services. In addition, bundled packages, targeted to Small Office or Enterprise clients who wish to purchase and host their IPT infrastructure on-prem, are also available.
